All ACFII modems are dual-mode K56flex and V.90. The older modems use the ACF chipset (models V1456VQH-R and V1456VQE-R) - the drivers and firmware these modems use are quite different.To identify if your modem uses the ACFII: To identify if you have a V1456VQH-R or V1456VQH-R5, take a look at the back of the modem. The V1456VQH-R (ACF) has Phone AND Line jacks, while the -R5 (ACFII) does NOT have a Phone jack - only a LINE jack. Alternatively, just take a look at the model sticker on the modem.To identify if you have a V1456VQE-R or V1456VQE-R1, take a look at the back of the modem. The -R (ACF) has Phone AND Line jacks, while the -R5 does NOT have a Phone jack - only a LINE jack.Dynalink external V1456VQE-R1 modems have two types of firmware. The different types of firmware use different drivers, so you need to identify which firmware your modem has so you can download the correct drivers.To ID the firmware type under Windows 9x/ME/2000: 1. Click Start Settings Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Modems icon. 3. Click the Diagnostics tab. 4. Click on the modem`s COM Port and click More info. 5. A table of responses will be reported. Check ATI3, then download the applicable driver below: ATI3 = V2.210-V90_2M_DLS: download the v2.210 drivers; ATI3 = V3.210-V90_2M_DLS: download the v3.210 drivers. | |
